Some post Hurricane Ike Thank You's
During Hurricane Ike things got rough. People were without power, phone service, gasoline and other things that make every day life go smoothly.
I was staying at a friend's house watching their animals while they were on vacation when Hurricane Ike moved through the area. There was a lot of work to be done in the aftermath and there were some people that made things easier for me through some very simple acts. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank them.
Debbie - for making dinner for me one night. It was a very good chicken fried steak, beans, and fries.
Jeanie - for a cup of milk to put on my cereal one morning.
Janet, and Rob and Laura - for orange juice
Brandon - for putting up a barrier where the fence blew down so I could let the dogs out in the backyard again
Jeff - for staying at my house and watching my animals for me while I was in the other house. Also for going above and beyond the call of duty and helping me clean out two refrigerators, and clean up some of the yard debris
Ray and Jeanette - for helping me clean up many of the branches and small twigs in the yard. Also, for the use of some power tools and pruning shears
Archimedes - for popularizing the lever, which eventually led to the invention of pruning shears
The trees - for being flexible and bending in the high winds instead of breaking and falling on my house.
To all of you, your help is most appreciated.
Thank you.
