These are Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about the Quixote Project. If you have a question please contact me.

What is The Quixote Project?

This is a personal project by me, James Husum, and my attempts to help make the world a better place.

How did you come up with this?

The short answer is I had a "Quixote moment" on July 1, 2002. I looked around and wasn't real happy with the way the world was going. Much like Alonso Quijana, I thought it would be a good idea for a knight to rise up and tilt at a few giants, er, windmills. For the longer answer, please see the Essays and read Inspiration and Motivation, parts I and II.

Are you serious?

Yes and no. Am I serious about trying to make the world a better place? Yes. Do I take this project seriously? Hopefully not too much. The world can be thrown into turmoil just as much by someone who thinks they have the 'one and only true way' to save the world as by someone who wants to conquer it. (There may not be all that much difference between the two.) I think a very important part of making the world a better place is to have a sense of humor about it and not take things too seriously. That helps keep things in perspective. If I do start to take this project too seriously and I start dictating how the world should be made better, please feel free to slap me.

Do you really think you're going to make a difference?

Yes. Absolutely. Well...maybe. To be perfectly honest, I have no idea. All I know is that I have to try.
